The “Guidelines for the definition of a preparation and response plan in the event of technological and disaster-related emergencies” have been published.

The document was produced by a team of experts coordinated by the Italian National Blood Centre. It addresses the need to provide a standardized tool for the definition of preparation and response plans in the event of extraordinary and unexpected events, with the aim of facilitating coordination and collaboration between the parties involved in the different risk scenarios and lay the foundations for the adoption of immediate compensation mechanisms, aimed at guaranteeing, even in crisis conditions, the continuity of transfusion activities compliant with safety and quality standards defined by current legislation.
