The CNS Certification Body carries out an initial assessment of candidates who wish to sit the certification examination to ensure they meet the requirements defined in the Certification Scheme of Inspectors for the Italian Transfusion System.
Certification is valid for four years, starting from the date of the first certificate issued and subsequently from the last renewal date.
Validity is subject to the positive outcome of the two-yearly monitoring performed by the CNS Certification Body to ensure the inspector in question has retained his/her skills in accordance with the requirements set out in the Certification Scheme.
At the end of the four-year period, the inspector may apply for certification renewal that is confirmed following a renewal assessment procedure regarding the fulfilment of the requirements defined in the Certification Scheme and after passing an examination.
The issue and renewal of CNS certification is attested through the enrolment/confirmation of the VSTIs concerned in the “CNS Directory of Certified Inspectors for the Italian Transfusion System”.
