Il 31 maggio 2022 si sono concluse le attività della Special Issue dedicata all’implementazione delle tecnologie di riduzione dei patogeni (PRT) nel sistema trasfusionale “Pathogen Reduction of Blood Bank Components“, coordinata dal dottor Vincenzo De Angelis, direttore del Centro Nazionale Sangue (CNS), e dalla dott.ssa Ilaria Pati, Responsabile del Settore sorveglianza epidemiologica del CNS, in qualità di Guest Editor.
Il sistema ha registrato più di 8.000 accessi e sono stati approvati e pubblicati 11 articoli scientifici.
La Special Issue ha fornito approfondimenti sull’evoluzione tecnologica delle PRT in termini di efficacia, sicurezza del prodotto e impatto, sul miglioramento della qualità e della sicurezza del sistema trasfusionale, derivante dalla loro introduzione.
